Support Indonesian Young Generation Ready to Work, Meratus Collaboration with ITS

Meratus, a leading maritime and logistics integrator company in Indonesia, plays an active role in supporting the young generation of Indonesia. Meratus, in collaboration with the Faculty of Marine Technology, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS), develops a constructive curriculum for the faculty's students to provide adequate training for future jobs. Students will subsequently use this curriculum in the internship program.

This form of collaboration also supports the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka policy from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, which requires every university to facilitate its students to be ready to work. Also, through this collaboration, it is hoped that it can speed up the time to get the first-time job for new graduates.

"From Meratus'Meratus' side, there is a desire to make a donation related to Meratus Park, that's the first. Then the second is that the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education has a program called MBKM (Merdeka Learn Campus Merdeka). Well, universities are obligated to provide facilities to students so they will be ready to work. An internship program is one of the solutions. Hopefully, by the internship program, students can be directly absorbed into the industry when they graduate from college. That is our actual goal," said Dr. Eng. Trika Pitana, S.T., M.Sc., Dean of the Faculty of Marine Technology, ITS.

"We have been collaborating with ITS for a long time. In addition, it becomes more targeted by using the Kampus Merdeka program because we can use the curriculum we have for our Management Trainees that they will use. It also helps these children's learning process so that when they enter the world of work, it has been prepared during their internship. Great cooperation. I am very supportive. We will start with ship management. Not only that but also logistics and so on, " said Johannita R. Pramadi, Head of HR Department Meratus.

In this first initiative, Meratus will start an internship program in ship management. Students will get real work experience and be guided directly by Meratus professional mentors in the field. Not only in the field of ship management, but in the future, this internship program will also be open for other work fields such as logistics and business management.
