1. Q: What service is offered by Meratus?

Meratus business concept is a “one-stop-shop” for all transportation needs. Meratus provides sea transportation service within all areas in Indonesia, with land transportation and consolidation services as added benefit for customers’ convenience.

2. Q: Does Meratus provide shipment to overseas (export)?
  A:
Meratus provides several alternatives for overseas shipments, from direct export to co-operation with ocean going shipping line. Please contact nearest Customer Service or our Salesperson to find out which alternative most suited to your requirements.
3. Q: Does Meratus provide door-to-door service or land transport service?
  A:
Door-to-door service or land transport service is provided to complement our service to the customers, especially for the shipment of full container load.
4. Q: Does Meratus accept break bulk shipment?
  A:
Yes. Meratus accepts break bulk shipment for project cargo, machinery and equipments, and mining supplies. Meratus also accept heavy lift cargo and special, odd-sized cargo.
5. Q: How do I get Meratus update schedule?
  A:
To get Meratus update schedule, please contact your nearest Customer Service or our Salesperson; or please register your name and contact details to our Customer Service to get regular update. You may also download the schedule from Meratus website. Please click here.
6. Q: My buyer request proof/evidence of the shipment with Meratus. How do I get that proof/evidence?
  A:
The evidence that you have done a shipment with Meratus is shown by the issuance of Bill of Lading, which will be issued to you upon completion of payment and administration process.
7. Q: How does my buyer can retrieve / get the cargo which had been shipped with Meratus?
  A:
Your buyer can retrieve / take delivery of the cargo by surrendering the original Bill of Lading to local Meratus Branch Office/Representative Office and exchange the Bill of Lading with Delivery Order which will be issued upon completion of payment and administration process.
8. Q: Why Meratus limits the weight of the cargo stuffed inside container?
  A:
Quality and Safety are two main concerns of Meratus in servicing the customers. To guarantee the safety throughout whole transportation process, including safety of personnel in the field, labours; it is imperative for Meratus to ensure that every aspect and requirement of safety are being met, including weight limitation of cargo stuffed inside the container.
9. Q: How does my buyer can retrieve the cargo shipped with Meratus while I cannot send the original Bill of Lading to my buyer right on time?
  A:
To facilitate shippers who are not able to send original Bill of Lading to their buyer due to time limitation, Meratus provides “Telex Release” facility. Shipper shall surrender the original Bill of Lading back to Meratus through “surrender B/L” process to be exchanged with “telex release”. Shipper can then facsimile or email this “telex release” to their buyer. By surrendering “telex release” to local Meratus Branch Office/Representative Office to be exchanged with Delivery Order, your buyer can take delivery of the cargo.
10. Q: I have completed booking for shipment procedure. How do I guarantee my buyer that the cargo will be shipped by Meratus?
  A:
Meratus ensures that all confirmed booking cargo will be loaded.
11. Q: Why does Meratus charge ?demurrage? and ?detention? for late return of container / prolonged use of container by shipper or buyer?
  A:
A container is one of main facilities in cargo transportation; providing ease and safety to the customer/cargo owner. Every Meratus service is designed effectively and efficiently considering market condition, vessels’ capacity and numbers of container required. If customer wishes to use container longer than allowed time for the transportation, the customer must notify Meratus Customer Service in advance prior shipment to get more info and cost.
12. Q: Does Meratus provide outbound shipping services?
  A:
Meratus provides much kind of choices in order to carry materials for export needed, we start it from delivery service directly abroad or we can make arrangement with Ocean Going Shipping Services in carrying your stuff. Please feel free to contact our Customer Services our nearest Sales to find out what kind of choices you may needed. 
13. Q: What kind of services that Meratus provide to customers?
  A:
Meratus has business concept that we carry one-stop-shop to all shipping services needed that’s why we provide shipping services within all Indonesia and will be strengthen by land transport services
14. Q: Does Meratus receive break bulk?
  A:
Yes we do, we receive break bulk as project stuff, machinery, or mineral requirement
15. Q: Does Meratus provide door to door service or trucking service?
  A:
To full fill all services to customers we provide door to door service especially in carrying full container load
16. Q: It is necessary for our Buyer to have receipt / confirmation for some stuff that we have delivered via Meratus. How can we get it?
  A:
You may get  a receipt /confirmation by taking B/lL from Meratus that you will enclose after you have settled all payment and administration matters.
17. Q: How to get an update Meratus’s Schedule?
  A:
In order to get an update Meratus’s Schedule you may contact our CS or nearest Sales or kindly register your personal contact to our CS / nearest Sales, and we will distribute our update Schedule regularly or please download here
18. Q: Why does Meratus place Demmurage and Detention for late container return?
  A:
It is important to remind that container is one of first part for carrying cargo, how can we make it simple and provide safety to our customers/consignee. All Meratus routes have been designing effective and efficient and should be considered market condition, vessel’s capacities and containers needed. If our customers need to use our container longer than our time limit in order to fulfill delivery service, it is essential to let us know by informing our CS before the cargo has delivered, in order to get further information and charges
19. Q: How to take / release our buyer’s stuffs that has delivered by Meratus?
  A:
Whenever your buyer need to release some materials that has devireved by Meratus, you should bring Meratus’s B/L and bring it into our branches within your stuff delivered and exchange the B/L with Delivery Order, you may get it after finishing your payment and administration’s matters
20. Q: How to take / release our buyer’s stuffs that has delivered by Meratus in the other hand we are not able to send the B/L on time?
  A:
We have simple way to solve a problem that our shipper is not able to send the B/L to their buyer as caused of time limitation, we provide a facility called Telex Release, after receiving a Telex Release kindly returned it back to Meratus through B/L surrender and we exchange it with Telex Release.  Your Buyer can discharge its stuff by submitted a Telex Release to Meratus Branches which you must reinstate it with Delivery Order
21. Q: Why does Meratus place a strict regulation for weight of cargo that will be carried in our container?
  A:
Quality and Safety are our first foundation in servicing our customers. A guarantee on Safety for a whole carrying process such as stevedores, shipping line, people may included, that’s why it is important for us to assure that all safety requirements has completed, including weight of cargo.
